PAPHOS, CYPRUS

Cyprus is an island of beauty and a country of contrasts. Cool, pine clan mountains are a complete scene change after golden sun kissed beeches; tranquil, timeless villages are in striking contrast to modern cosmopolitan towns; luxurious beach side hotels can be exchanged for large areas of natural, un-spoilt countryside; yet in Cyprus all distances are easily manageable, mostly on modern roads and highways - with a secondary route or two for the more adventurous.

Paphos Castle

Kato Paphos. Originally built as a Byzantine fort to protect the harbour, it was rebuilt by the Lusignans in the 13th century, then dismantled by the Venetians in 1570, who were unable to defend it against the Ottomans, who in their turn, restored it after they captured the island.

Tombs of The Kings

Wide area containing underground tombs carved out of solid rock dating to 4th century BC, many decorated with Doric pillars. Whether Kings were buried here or not, the magnificence of the tombs gave the area its name

The Mosaics Of Paphos

House of Dionysos, House of Theseus and the recently excavated House of Aion. The amazing mosaic floors, of these 3rd century AD noblemen's villas, are considered among the finest in the Eastern Mediterranean . They mostly depict scenes from Greek mythology and are beautifully executed.

SIVOTA, GREECE.

Peaceful low hillside location, 4/5 minutes drive to the harbour, tavernas and supermarkets.
Approx 10 minutes drive to nearest beaches in Vassiliki. There are also a smaller beaches around the harbour. The beautiful beaches of Porto Katsiki, Egremni and Katasma can be found on the West side of the island.
Nightlife, discos, shops ,water sports, boat trips and boat hire are found in Nidri a 20 minute drive away. Boat hire and sailing tuition is also available nearby.
Sivota lies on the southern peninsular on the island of Lefkada and the busy main town of Lefkas is approximately 40 minutes drive. The beautiful island of Lefkada is situated in the Ionian sea north of Cephalonia & approximately 60 miles south of Corfu with spectacluar views overlooking 22 neighbouring islands.

The island is a yachting paradise and the colourful floatillas can be found moored quayside in Sivota harbour adjacent to the tavernas and bars.

Flights to Lefkas (Lefkada) arrive at the nearby airport in Preveza (Aktio) just 15 minutes from the island which is joined to the mainland by a swingbridge and is accessible by road.

UK flights depart from Manchester & Gatwick, travel time is approximately 3 hours.

numerous interests to be found on the island
